Military-theoretical magazine «BAGDAR-ORIENTIR»

The military-theoretical journal «BAGDAR-ORIENTIR» has been published by the National Defense University since 1998. Publication frequency is 1 time per quarter.
Certificate of registration, re-registration of a periodical, news agency and online publication dated February 14, 2018 No. 16910-Z, issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The military-theoretical journal "Bagdar-Orientir" is included in the list of publications recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the publication of the main results of scientific activity (order of the Chairman of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 11, 2021 No. 2dsp), and also to the Kazakhstan Citation Database (KazBC) (Agreement No. 3 dated March 12, 2020).

REQUIREMENTS FOR MANUSCRIPTS PUBLISHED IN THE MILITARY-THEORETICAL JOURNAL «BAGDAR-ORIENTIR»

1. Articles in the military theoretical journal «Bagdar-Orientir» are published in Kazakh, Russian, and English languages. Articles submitted for publication should cover current issues of geopolitics and security, military art, military training and education, military history, weapons and military equipment. The text of the scientific article, designed in English, must be accompanied by its translation in Russian or the official language.
2. Submitting a draft article for publication in the journal, the author guarantees the correctness of all information about himself, the absence of plagiarism and other forms of illegal borrowing in the manuscript, the proper design of tables, diagrams and illustrations.
3. The volume of the article should be from 3 to 8 pages, including tables (figures) in A4 format. The draft article is submitted to the editorial board (executive Secretary) in electronic and paper versions (Office 2000, Word, Times New Roman) in one copy.
4. The typeface of the text in Russian is Times New Roman, size – 10.5, single interval. For the text in the state language, the font is Times New Roman kz, size – 10.5, single spacing. An article in English is designed with similar parameters.
5. The title of the article should reflect the content of the article, the subject matter, and the results of the conducted scientific research and meet the requirements of informative content, attractiveness and uniqueness (no more than 12 words). The title of the scientific article is drawn up by capital letters in the center of the sheet as required by state standard 7.5-98.
6. Above the title of the article on the left side is the UDC index (universal decimal classification) and below it is the code of the interstate of scientific and technical information rubricator (ISTIR, http://grnti.ru/), next in the center is the surname and initials of the author, as well as the binding of the author to the main place of work – affiliation. In this case, the name of the organization must correspond to the last official legal name indicating the city and country, without form of ownership and departmental affiliation.
7. Under the heading of a scientific article in Kazakh, Russian, and English, an abstract is given (no less than 100 words and no more than 200 words) describing the subject and conclusions of the article and meeting the requirements of informative and content (it should not contain formulas, repeat the title of the article in terms of content; it should not contain bibliographic references; it should reflect the summary of the article, while maintaining the structure of the article – introduction, setting goals, objectives, research methods, results and discussion, conclusion), as well as keywords (5-10 words / phrases) that are informative, reflecting the narrow focus of the article (should reflect the main content of the article, if possible, do not repeat the terms of the title and annotation, use terms from the text of the article, as well as terms, defining the subject area and including other important concepts that make it easier and expand the possibilities of finding an article by means of an information search engine). A well-designed and translated abstract increases the interest in the article, also the probability of the article being cited by domestic and foreign colleagues.
8. Then the text of the scientific article is placed, which should contain: - introduction, including purpose and objectives; - research materials and methods (specify the sources of information and methods used in the course of the study); - the results of the study and their discussion; - conclusion (or conclusions), which briefly reflects the results of solving the tasks set.
9. Tables and figures should be placed after the mention (link in the text). Tables should be titled, and empty graphs are not allowed in them. An inscription should follow each illustration. There should be no discrepancies in the designation of symbols and signs in tables, figures, and formulas.
10. The drawings should be clear and printed. Scanned drawings are not allowed. Illustrative materials are presented in the following formats: for photos, drawings – tiff or jepg (300 dpi for black and white and color); graphs, diagrams, diagrams, etc. - exls, cdr. The surname of the author, the title of the article and the number of the drawing are indicated on the back of the drawing or under it.
11. Formulas should be typed in the appropriate editor (for mathematical and chemical formulas). The article numbers only those formulas that are referenced in the text.
12. Abbreviations should to disclosure at the first mention in the text, with the exception of well-known ones.
13. The list of references is drawn up in accordance with state standard 7.1-2003. In the text, references are indicated in square brackets [1], a reference to the book in the main text of the article should be accompanied by an indication of the pages used [1, p.29]. Links should be numbered strictly in the order of their mention in the text. The first reference in the text to the literature should have the number [1], the second – [2], etc. Information about sources should be arranged in the order in which references to sources appear in the text and numbered in Arabic numerals without a dot and printed with paragraph indentation. The bibliographic record is made in the original language. References to unpublished works are not allowed. Links to uncensored publications are undesirable.
14. After the list of references, the surname, initials of the authors, as well as their academic degree and academic title (if any), military rank and position (in case of absence an academic degree and academic title) are presented.
15. The article is completed with a note on the date of submission of the publication to the editorial office. For example, «The article was submitted to the editorial office on April 1th, 2024». This recording is performed in the original language.
16. The manuscript of a scientific article must be accompanied by: 1) expert opinion of the state secrets protection service, on the basis of which the publication of the material in the open press is allowed; 2) a certificate of the results of checking for the presence of borrowings (the originality of the article should be at least 70%); 3) Review of the article.
17. The manuscript must be carefully verified. Manuscripts that do not meet the technical requirements will be returned for revision. Returning for revision does not mean that the manuscript has been accepted for publication.
18. The author(s) is responsible for the content of the scientific article. The Editorial Board reserves the right to publish or reject the manuscript for publication. Manuscripts submitted to the editorial office are not returned.
19. Everyone is invited to cooperate and publish scientific articles in the military theoretical journal «Bagdar-Orientir».
