The Department of Missile Troops and Artillery trains undergraduates of the operational-tactical (tactical) management of artillery formations and units, in the specialty 6M100300 “Military and administrative management (according to the program of Missile troops and Artillery)”, since September 1, 2016, in the specialty “7M 12101 – Management in military affairs” (Operational-tactical Management formations and units of rocket troops and artillery).

The main tasks of the department:
1. Organization and implementation of educational and methodological work at a high theoretical, methodological and scientific level in order to train highly qualified specialists with knowledge, skills, skills and professional qualities of officer cadres for the Armed Forces in the field of control of formations (units) of missile troops and artillery in modern combined arms combat and operations;
2. Carrying out scientific research aimed at the development of military theory in the field of combat use of rocket troops and artillery, improving the combat capability and combat readiness of troops;
3. Preparation and release of educational publications (textbooks, teaching aids, educational and methodological complexes of disciplines), educational and methodological and scientific materials to ensure educational activities;
4. Participation in the development of curricula, working curricula, structural and logical schemes of training specialists and schedules of training sessions together with the educational and methodological department and departments of the University.

— combat use of rocket troops and artillery;
— control of missile strikes and artillery fire;
— theoretical foundations of the control of strikes and fire of rocket troops and artillery;
— artillery reconnaissance;
— topogeodetic, hydrometeorological and ballistic support of missile troops and artillery;
— methods of combat and operational training;
— combat use of artillery (for other specialists).
